See the moose?

Monday Jason took me snow shoeing. My first time ever! He helped me put on my shoes and off we went… off the trail. “What are we doing”, I asked? “Going to find a moose” he said. As I began to waddle my way out into the snow, sinking several inches as we went, I wondered, “How the heck does he know where a moose is?”

Of course we saw a moose, less than 15 minutes into our walk. Here's a picture: Can you see her?

We sat very still watching her for a few minutes. At some point she noticed we were there and got up and wandered off. I couldn’t believe how BIG she was! It was my fourth moose sighting since moving to Wyoming.

We hiked for about an hour and a half. The best part, besides being with Jason? I didn’t have to use my inhaler! Hooray for my lungs!

Here I am “resting”. I fell down quite often. Here I am eating some snow. I couldn’t help myself! After our walk we got the dogs out of the car and let them play in the snow banks along the parking lot. Shelby didn’t know what to do with herself. She kept sinking into the snow. Tillie knew better. She ran for the groomed trail. Calling the dogs from the top of the snow bank: More pictures from our walk. Jason played photographer for the day. What a great day!

In the News...

Yes it has been awhile…

Since we last posted, our friends Beth and Steve had a baby. Tyler is so cute and even has his own website: http://www.babysites.com/sites/beargale/ We helped throw a belated baby shower with our friends Bryce and Meg. Trey even made a diaper cake for Tyler. Bryce has baby envy and is seen here taking it out on the cat, Gato. Last weekend we traveled to Estes Park, CO for the Colorado Wyoming Association of Museums board meeting. Jason got to putz around town while Trey was in meetings all day. The dogs came with us and got an extra special treat: sleeping on the people bed!

Last night we had an impromptu dinner party for Erin and Alex but because of poor road conditions, E & A couldn’t make it! Tyler came over with his parents and caused quite a commotion with the dogs (we think it was over Tyler). In one 5 second increment, our two girls got in a fight and Tillie lost part of her ear! There were a few Mike Tyson jokes offered and some blood spilled, but today all is well. Shelby even offered to clean Tillie’s ear this morning.

Friday K12 news out of Casper, Wyoming did a story on the prison featuring Teresa. We unfortunately missed it because we get the news out of Denver. The station promised to send over a copy and it should be posted on our website by the end of the month. Check back: http://wyoparks.state.wy.us/Sites/TerritorialPrison/index.asp

Hope everyone enjoyed the three day weekend. Busy work week ahead followed by the yearly Oscar party on the 24th!

P.S. Oh ya, Valentine's Day was great. We both took the day off work and spent quality time together. We even went shopping for a Harely. Just for the fun of it!
