Caption Contest - Looking for a middle name

We are structuring the caption contest around our newest family member. Meet Shelby II. A Black Lab mixed with possibly Blue Heeler. We rescued her from the local shelter. She had only been there a few days. Her previous owners dropped her off claiming they weren't "dog people" anymore. She had been with them since she was a puppy. The helpful staff at the shelter estimates she is 5 years old. Because she is an adult (which means no house training or puppy chewing!!!) we don't want to change her name. Oddly enough, my parents still have the black lab mix we rescued in Georgia whose name is also Shelby. So, the caption contest this month is suggestions for a middle name for Shelby II. (I call Tillie, "Tillie Ann Sherwood" when she is in trouble!)
Tillie looking at Jason, "do we have to have another dog?"Shelby is sweet natured, playful, and grew up around cats. Yeah for Rocky! Here they are together. I think Rocky is more curious about her than she is of him. She is a little overweight right now, but after a regime of long walks and carefully measured meals, we think we can drop a few pounds. Plus, the extra exercise with help Jason and I stay in shape. (Since we are not "gym people" and broomball season is over!)

It was so hard to get pictures of her. Everytime I got the camera out, she'd run off. Rocky, on the other hand, was more than happy to fill her spot! Welcome Shelby!

Stop the contest!

I have the perfect name: Shelby Texas.

Wait. Let me explain. It's not the stereotype at all.

Okay...Now, Teresa, I know that you and Marlise miss each other (even though y'all have married the two best husbands around). This name will remind you of your good friend Marlise (who is one of the most beautiful persons) because Marlise lives near Shelby, Texas (one of the most beautiful places).

Shelby is in the midst of rolling green hills with a nice balance of pasture and Oak trees. Shelby would loving running around places like Shelby.

Shelby also has a wonderfully historic hall (history!). You can even bring Shelby to dances in the Shelby Hall. Check the schedule at http://texasparadise.com/HarmonieHall/.

To help you get to the hall, there's a map on the hall's website. You can stay with us, so you'll be starting in Rutersville just west of the lake on the map.

Shelby Texas: it has a nice ring to it. You can use it when you're happy to see her and when she's getting in trouble. And, get this--Shelby Sherwood. You'll have the joy of alliteration every day!

So, there you have it: the perfect name. Shelby Texas Sherwood gets my vote.

Oh my gosh how cute. She is beautiful. I will give you the name I wanted to use for Catfish - Nefertiti- and call her Neffi. That will be the first name of my next lab (many, many years from now)! If you ever need anyone to pet sit, just let me know and I will bring the family out

There have been some really good ideas for names, it will be hard to pick! Here's another idea - "Shelby Sue" You can name her after your Godmother! (After all Aunt Sue is the one who gave you the nickname "baby cakes" when you were a little girl!) She looks precious - hope all is going well and everyone adjusting to each other There's nothing quite like that unconditional love we get from our pets. Look forward to more pictures.
